[Workshop]Frantz Fanon “Clinical, political and epistemological heritages”

On the occasion of the centenary of the birth of Frantz Fanon (1925–2025), this study day aims to pay tribute to a major figure in critical thinking of the twentieth century, whose work continues to illuminate the humanities and social sciences. A psychiatrist and anticolonial activist, Fanon has developed a unique clinic, rooted in historical, social and political realities, driven by a transdisciplinary and committed approach.

This day proposes to explore the actuality of his work by articulating clinical, domination reports and emancipation process. The aim will be to question a practice attentive to the historical, social and political determinants of suffering, especially in situations of exile, racism and trauma, while analyzing the psychic and corporal effects of violence on subjectivation processes.

The interventions will focus on the epistemological legacies of Fanon’s work, the political dimension of care, the role of speech and collective dynamics, as well as the conditions of a subjective and social transformation oriented towards emancipation.
