The UFR LLSHS stands out for its wide range of disciplines, comprising seven departments: Geography, History, Foreign Languages, Cultures, and Societies (LCSE), Linguistics, Psychology, Psychobiology, and Education Sciences.

We are delighted to offer a rich, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment to international students who wish to join our department, whether through an exchange program or an individual application.

Study abroad program

The UFR collaborates with numerous international higher education institutions around the world. If your university is a partner of the USPN, you have the opportunity to come and study for one semester or one year as part of an exchange program.

In advance

Choosing your training program

The UFR offers a wide range of courses from bachelor’s to master’s degrees in the fields of arts, literature, languages, humanities, and social sciences. Take a look at our course offerings to choose the program that best suits your plans.

Apply to your home university

You must first apply to your home university. Make sure that your institution and Sorbonne Paris Nord University have signed a student exchange agreement for your discipline and level of study.

Before your arrival

Once your mobility has been accepted and your home university has made the appointment, you must:

► Complete the application form electronically using the link you will have received in your email and upload the required documents to the online platform before the application deadline:

  • For a stay in the first semester or for the whole year: May 15.
  • For a stay in the second semester: October 31.

► If your application is accepted, you will receive an admission letter by email that you can use for administrative procedures, including visa applications if applicable.

Upon arrival, you must report to the Mobility Office of the International Relations Department in order to:

► Have your arrival certificate signed;
► Obtain your student card and certificate of enrollment;
► Activate your “ENT” digital student account.

Educational registration

Once you have completed your administrative registration at the university, you must register for the courses listed in your study contract. This step is mandatory in order to be able to take exams.

You must do the following as soon as possible

► Make an appointment with your academic coordinator at the UFR to confirm or modify your course choices on your study contract.
► Email your signed final academic contract to incoming@univ-paris13.fr.
► Submit your completed academic registration form with the course codes before the deadline in order to receive your grades at the end of your stay.

Other registration

Registration for language courses, sports, and/or cultural activities is done directly with the relevant departments:

► Language courses: the Language Center
► Sports activities: the DAPS
► Cultural activities: the Cultural Department

Before you leave, you must

► Check that you have completed all your courses.
► Check that you have taken all the exams required to obtain a grade for all the courses you have enrolled in.
► Have your departure certificate signed by the Mobility Office of the International Relations Department.
► Ensure that you have received your transcript to validate your study period at USPN. Please note that it may take longer to obtain all of your grades.

Erasmus+

If you are selected for an Erasmus+ mobility program at the UFR, check with your home university to find out the conditions for awarding the Erasmus+ study grant.

Coming outside of an exchange program (as an individual)

Would you like to study at the UFR outside of an exchange program? You must follow the registration procedure for individual applications.

The language level required to enroll in a program at the UFR LLSHS is B2 level for bachelor’s degree applicants and C1 level for master’s degree applicants.

All our courses are taught mainly in French.

To enroll in a university program, admission requirements vary depending on your nationality, country of residence, foreign high school diploma, and the nature of the program you wish to pursue.

Bourse Eiffel

Bourse Eiffel Campus France

This program of excellence, offered by Campus France (under the supervision of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs), provides scholarships to the best international students wishing to pursue a master’s or doctoral degree at a French institution in priority fields of study.

For the humanities and social sciences, it covers history, language, French civilization, economics, and management (applied foreign languages).

The call for applications begins in October. The deadline for submitting applications to our university is early December.

Other scholarships

The UFR LLSHS does not offer scholarships for individual mobility programs.

However, please consult the calls for applications on the websites of French embassies abroad, French institutes, and French alliances, as well as the scholarship program directory available on the Campus France website.
